Anything which gets connected to an internet becomes vulnerable. Follow these procedures to gain access using a public IP not just locally.
- Learn about the Public IP of the victim’s network.
- Login to the Router Settings à Port Forwarding à Access the IP of the CCTV System
- You may also run NMAP and scan the entire victim’s network and examine for live hosts and open ports.
- Possession to this information will enable you to have access to the CCTV Camera using a public IP.
Follow these steps, to evade or minimize the threat of getting your CCTV Systems hacked:
- Be certain to purchase upgraded and latest secure CCTV Systems
- Update the firmware and software regularly.
- Whenever a new CCTV system is installed at your house, make sure to change the following details:
- Local IP of the CCTV Camera.
- Check the Port Forwarding settings
- Change the Router Login Credentials. Choose a strong password.
- Make sure to turn OFF the Modem for 10 seconds and then turn it ON (This stem would amend your Public IP automatically, as normal client have a Dynamic IP)
